The best solution for many landscape design situations is a drawn plan. All of our plans, large or small, are drawn in CAD and are to scale.
Laying out back yard elements such as pools, decks, pool houses, patios, walkways, and fire pits at once in a master plan is an investment that will make it easy for you to obtain multiple quotes for your custom design.
Our drawing packages are customized for your project and your budget. Our usual plan design fees can range from $850.00 to $3200.00, depending on plan complexity and options chosen by the client. Even smaller plans can take 30-40 hours of site and office time to create and deliver.
Some of the features that can be incorporated into your plan package:
- An in depth interview at the beginning of the project to pinpoint your goals
- An in person presentation of the design when completed
- All plans are done to scale in CAD and are provided as high quality PDF files
- Multiple design concepts to provide you with as many ideas as possible
- 3D modelling done to scale
- Plant Legend and Portfolio
- One free revision of the plan if provided within 3 months of plan receipt
- A design notes document providing additional instructions and information
- A design inspiration photo document to help you finalize the details of your project
After reviewing your project with you we can customize a design package that works for you.
Our initial visit to your site will take about an hour. We’ll tour outside and then sit down and get any major goals you have. At that point we can then discuss the pricing and options. Our photo and measuring process takes at least 1-2 hours. If our appointment is late in the day or the weather is bad we will come back on our own to survey the site. Do you have any kind of property survey, tax map, any official “map” of the property? That will help!
Tell us anything or everything you are thinking of. What you like or don’t like. If you have ideas of your own, don’t be afraid of sharing them with us. We have had clients tell us that many contractors simply “parrot” back any ideas you share with them and don’t offer a different solution. We will provide fresh ideas to get you to your goals, some of which may be inspired by your ideas, or not. We’re here to help you. Good communication is essential. If we are running behind our completion estimate, we’ll let you know. Our company is just the two of us and we do get pulled in multiple directions. Our typical turnaround time for designs is 6-8 weeks in peak demand times.
Typically we’ll provide 2 hard copies of the plan. All other materials are provided by email or thumb drive as PDF files. This conserves paper and helps us keep our costs as low as possible.
Revisions are delivered by email and hard copies; in person presentations of revisions are not included. Once we deliver our final concept or revision, our job is essentially done. While we are happy to answer a question or two as you delve into implementing your design, ongoing consulting is not included in your design contract. A typical design consumes 50 or more hours of our time just to deliver a plan. We charge $60 per hour for consulting after plan presentation if our schedule allows.
We are not architects or engineers. Our drawings cannot be used as property surveys or any other official use. While we certainly space plan outdoor spaces, we do not provide construction drawings for retaining walls, pergolas, decks, pool houses, etc. A qualified contractor will have the real world knowledge to install these elements and won’t require construction drawings.
